Recycling with our friend, Danish-Vietnamese artist Danh Vo
In the building that once housed the legendary Falafel House, we made recycling play a central role in designing the space. With an approach and belief in site-specific solutions, we continued the story of existing space with a nod to the aesthetics of classic Danish grill culture. The slim format of the restaurant is playfully extended by a wall of mirrors, adorned with art by Danh Vo that references the classic fairytale of Cinderella. The textures, patina, and irregularities of the reused objects add a warm contrast to the clean lines and cool surfaces of the surrounding industrial aesthetic.
Designed in collaboration with Danish-Vietnamese artist Danh Vo and longtime collaborators Briq.
